Daṇḍanīti and the King as the Cause of Yuga-Order (दण्डनीतिः राजधर्मश्च युगकारणत्वम्)
इस जगत्में उस समय रोग नहीं होते, कोई भी मनुष्य अल्पायु नहीं दिखायी देता, स्त्रियाँ विधवा नहीं होती हैं तथा कोई भी मनुष्य दीन-दुखी नहीं होता है ।।
akṛṣṭapacyā pṛthivī bhavanty oṣadhayas tathā | tvakpatraphalamūlāni vīryavanti bhavanti ca ||
Bhīṣma dit : «En cet âge-là, en ce monde, il n’y avait point de maladies; nul n’était vu de vie brève; les femmes ne devenaient pas veuves, et nul homme ne tombait dans la détresse. La terre donnait sa nourriture sans être labourée ni semée, et les herbes médicinales naissaient d’elles-mêmes. Jusqu’à leur écorce, leurs feuilles, leurs fruits et leurs racines étaient, de nature, pleins de puissance.»
