परिनिछितकार्यस्तु नृपति: परिपालनात्‌ | कुर्यादन्यन्न वा कुयदिन्द्रो राजन्य उच्यते

Transliteration

pariniścita-kāryas tu nṛpatiḥ paripālanāt | kuryād anyan na vā kuryād indro rājanya ucyate ||

Translation

Bhishma dit : Le roi, après avoir arrêté avec fermeté ce qui doit être fait, doit agir pour la protection et le bon gouvernement de son royaume. Qu’il prenne des mesures supplémentaires ou s’en abstienne, on l’appelle « Indra parmi les rois » lorsque son règne repose sur un devoir résolu et la sauvegarde de ses sujets.
