कृत्स्ना मार्गगुणाश्वैव तथा भूमिगुणाश्व ह | आत्मरक्षणमाश्वास: सर्गाणां चान्ववेक्षणम्,तथा मार्गके समस्त गुण, भूमिके गुण, आत्मरक्षाके उपाय, आश्वासन तथा रथ आदिके निर्माण और निरीक्षण आदिका भी वर्णन है
kṛtsnā mārgaguṇāś caiva tathā bhūmiguṇāś ca ha | ātmarakṣaṇam āśvāsaḥ sargāṇāṃ cānuvīkṣaṇam ||
Bhīṣma dit : «Il faut connaître pleinement les qualités des routes et, de même, celles du terrain ; ainsi que les moyens de se protéger, l’art de rassurer son peuple, et l’examen attentif des formations et des déploiements.»
