This verse is a colophon rather than a doctrinal statement: it frames the teaching by marking the close of a chapter within the royal-dharma instruction. Its ethical significance lies in emphasizing that rājadharma is delivered as structured, authoritative counsel—meant to be received, remembered, and applied in governance.
The reciter signals the end of the fifty-second chapter in the Śānti Parva, specifying that this unit concerns the arrival of Yudhiṣṭhira and his companions and belongs to the rājadharma instruction section. It functions as a formal transition point to the next chapter.
