स राजमार्ग: शुशुभे समलंकृतचत्वर: । यथा चन्द्रोदये राजन् वर्धमानो महोदधि:,राजन! जैसे चन्द्रोदय होनेपर महासागर उमड़ने लगता है, उसी प्रकार जिसके चौराहे खूब सजाये गये थे, वह राजमार्ग मनुष्योंकी उमड़ती हुई भीड़से बड़ी शोभा पा रहा था
sa rājamārgaḥ śuśubhe samalaṅkṛta-catvaraḥ | yathā candrodaye rājan vardhamāno mahodadhiḥ ||
Vaiśampāyana dit : «Cette grande voie royale, dont les carrefours étaient richement ornés, brillait d’un éclat merveilleux. Ô roi, de même que l’immense océan enfle au lever de la lune, ainsi cette route gagnait en splendeur lorsque la foule des hommes s’y déversait comme une vague.»
