त्वयि चाहं द्विजश्रेष्ठ भवान् मयि न संशय: । लोको<यं भवत: सर्व: का चिन्ता मयि तेडनघ
tvayi cāhaṃ dvijaśreṣṭha bhavān mayi na saṃśayaḥ | loko ’yaṃ bhavataḥ sarvaḥ kā cintā mayi te ’naghā ||
Le Nāga dit : « Ô le meilleur des deux-fois-nés, je demeure en toi et tu demeures en moi — il n’y a là aucun doute. Ô toi sans péché, ce monde tout entier est à toi. Tant que je suis ici avec toi, quelle raison d’inquiétude pourrais-tu avoir ? »
नाग उवाच
The verse teaches reassurance grounded in mutual belonging and protection: the Nāga affirms an intimate bond (“I am in you, you are in me”) and removes fear by promising guardianship, implying that rightful support and alliance can dissolve anxiety and stabilize dharma.
A Nāga addresses a revered Brāhmaṇa, declaring unwavering unity and loyalty. By stating that the whole world is effectively the Brāhmaṇa’s and that there is no need for worry while the Nāga is present, the speaker offers protection and confidence in the relationship.
