व्यास उवाच
The verse prescribes a rule of brāhmaṇa conduct: certain kinds of milk are to be avoided as part of maintaining ritual-ethical discipline (ācāra), emphasizing restraint and purity norms within dharma.
In the Śānti Parva’s instruction on dharma and proper conduct, Vyāsa states a specific dietary prohibition, listing sources of milk considered unsuitable for a brāhmaṇa.
