वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights dharma as purposeful action performed in obedience to rightful authority: a sage, though spiritually eminent, accepts a defined mission and is urged to complete it, reflecting disciplined responsibility within the cosmic and ethical order.
Vaiśampāyana narrates that the Lord, after speaking to the sage Apāntaratamas (identified as Sarasvatī’s son), formally dismisses him with an instruction to proceed and fulfill the assigned work—signaling a transition from counsel to execution of a task.
