Prāyaścitta and Contextual Non-Culpability (प्रायश्चित्त-निमित्त-अदोषवाद)
क्रतुना चाश्वमेधेन पूयते नात्र संशय: । ये चाप्पवभूथस्नाता: केचिदेवंविधा नरा:
kratunā cāśvamedhena pūyate nātra saṁśayaḥ | ye cāpy avabhṛtha-snātāḥ kecid evaṁvidhā narāḥ ||
Par le rite sacrificiel—et surtout par l’Aśvamedha—on est purifié ; il n’y a là aucun doute. Et il est aussi des hommes de cette sorte qui, après avoir accompli le bain conclusif (avabhṛtha) à l’issue du sacrifice, sont tenus pour lavés de toute souillure et pleinement accomplis sur le plan rituel.
