Nāgendra–Brāhmaṇa Saṃvāda: Praśna-vidhi and Dharmic Approach on the Gomatī Riverbank
इदं च सप्तमं जन्म पद्मजन्मेति वै प्रभो । सर्गे सर्गे हाहं पुत्रस्तव त्रिगुणवर्जित
idaṃ ca saptamaṃ janma padmajanmeti vai prabho | sarge sarge ha ahaṃ putras tava triguṇavarjita prabho ||
Vaiśaṃpāyana dit : « Ô Seigneur, voici ma septième naissance, connue comme la “naissance née du lotus”. Ô Suprême, au-delà des trois guṇa, à chaque cycle de la création je me manifeste comme ton fils. »
वैशग्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights the Lord’s transcendence beyond the three guṇas and frames repeated births across cosmic cycles as purposeful manifestations within a divine relationship (here, as ‘son’), emphasizing continuity of dharmic transmission across creations.
Vaiśaṃpāyana speaks to the Lord, identifying the present incarnation as his seventh birth—called the ‘lotus-born’ birth—and states that in every creation-cycle he appears again as the Lord’s son.
