Nāgendra–Brāhmaṇa Saṃvāda: Praśna-vidhi and Dharmic Approach on the Gomatī Riverbank
ददृशाते5रविन्दस्थ॑ ब्रह्माणममितप्रभम् । सृजन्तं प्रथम वेदां श्वतुरश्चारुविग्रहान्
dadṛśāte 'ravindasthe brahmāṇam amitaprabham | sṛjantaṃ prathamaṃ vedān caturāṃś cāruvigrahān ||
Alors ils virent Brahmā, d’une splendeur incommensurable, assis sur un siège de lotus et occupé à l’œuvre de la création ; et près de lui ils virent aussi les quatre Veda, ayant pris de belles formes incarnées. La scène souligne la vision éthique du Mahābhārata : l’ordre cosmique et le dharma s’enracinent dans le savoir sacré (Veda) et dans l’activité intentionnelle du Créateur, non dans le hasard.
वैशग्पायन उवाच
Dharma and cosmic order are portrayed as rooted in Brahmā’s creative governance and in the Vedas as living, authoritative knowledge—suggesting that right conduct is aligned with revealed wisdom and the structure of creation.
The observers (as indicated by “they saw”) witness Brahmā seated on a lotus, actively engaged in creation, and they also see the four Vedas nearby, depicted as taking on beautiful forms.
