Nāga-āyatana-darśana-pratīkṣā — The Brāhmaṇa’s Request and Waiting on the Gomatī
The verse foregrounds dhārmic learning through disciplined inquiry: sacred knowledge is approached by seeking out realized teachers, staying with them, and asking precise questions—emphasizing humility, patience, and the proper method of receiving instruction.
Janamejaya asks the narrator to continue the account of Nārada: after returning from Śvetadvīpa and arriving at Badarikāśrama, Nārada meets two resident sages. Janamejaya wants to know the length of Nārada’s stay there and the specific questions he asked them.
