अध्याय ३३७ — ज्ञानमार्ग-वैविध्यप्रश्नः तथा व्यासस्य नारायणोद्भवकथा
Systems of Knowledge and Vyāsa’s Nārāyaṇa-Origin
महीतलादू गत: स्थान ब्रह्मण: समनन्तरम् । परां गतिमनुप्राप्त इति नैप्लेकमज्जसा,नृपश्रेष्ठी सदा धर्मपर अनुराग रखनेवाले सत्यधर्मपरायण राजा उपरिचर भूमिके भीतर प्रवेश करके भी निरन्तर नारायण-मन्त्रका जप करते हुए भी उन्हींकी आराधनामें तत्पर रहते थे। अतः उन्हींकी कृपासे वे पुन: ऊपरको उठे और भूतलसे ब्रह्मलोकमें जाकर उन्होंने परम गति प्राप्त कर ली। अनायास ही उन्हें निष्ठावानोंकी यह उत्तम गति प्राप्त हो गयी
mahītalād ū gataḥ sthānaṁ brahmaṇaḥ samanantaram | parāṁ gatim anuprāpta iti naiplekam ajjasā ||
Le Deva dit : «S’étant détaché de la surface de la terre, il atteignit aussitôt la demeure de Brahmā ; ainsi parvint-il au but suprême—Naipleka—sans peine.» Dans le fil du récit, le roi juste Uparicara, inébranlablement voué au dharma et toujours appliqué au culte par le mantra de Nārāyaṇa, même après être entré dans la terre, demeurait sans cesse en japa et en adoration. Par la grâce divine, il fut relevé de nouveau et, du monde terrestre, gagna Brahmaloka, obtenant l’état le plus élevé réservé aux âmes fermes.
