अध्याय ३२३ — श्वेतद्वीपगमनम्, यज्ञभाग-विवादः, एकान्तिभक्त्या नारायणदर्शन-नियमः (Śvetadvīpa Journey; Dispute over Sacrificial Share; Rule of Nārāyaṇa-vision through Single-minded Devotion)
Attachment to sense-objects leads inevitably to doṣa (moral fault and downfall), while restraint of the senses (indriya-nigraha) leads to siddhi—success understood as inner mastery and spiritual attainment.
In the Śānti Parva’s instruction section, Bhīṣma continues advising on dharma and right conduct, emphasizing disciplined control of the senses as a foundation for ethical life and higher attainment.
