Impermanence, Svabhāva, and Śuka’s Resolve for Yoga
ततो<नुचिन्तयमहं भूयो देवीं सरस्वतीम् । मनसा स च मे प्रश्नो दध्नो घृतमिवोद्धृतम्
tato'nucintayamaham bhūyo devīṃ sarasvatīm | manasā sa ca me praśno dadhno ghṛtam ivoddhṛtam ||
Alors je méditai de nouveau, en mon esprit, sur la déesse Sarasvatī. Et aussitôt, comme on tire le beurre clarifié du caillé, la réponse à ma question surgit avec netteté du dedans, née de la contemplation et de la grâce de l’intuition sacrée.

True understanding is not merely collected from outside; it is clarified through sustained contemplation and the refining power of wisdom (here invoked as Sarasvatī). As ghee is extracted from curd, insight is ‘drawn out’ from the mind when it is properly churned by reflection and guided by learning.
Yājñavalkya says that after again mentally invoking and contemplating Sarasvatī, the resolution of his inquiry emerged clearly. The verse uses a domestic, vivid metaphor—ghee arising from curd—to describe how an answer becomes manifest after inner churning and divine/intellectual inspiration.
