सूृंजयस्याथ राजर्षे: कस्मिंश्वित् कालपर्यये । जज्ञे पुत्रो महावीर्यस्तेजसा प्रज्वलन्निव,तदनन्तर किसी समय राजर्षि सृंजयके एक पुत्र हुआ, जो अपने तेजसे प्रज्वलित-सा हो रहा था। वह महान् बलशाली था
sṛñjayasya atha rājarṣeḥ kasmiṁścit kāla-paryaye | jajñe putro mahāvīryas tejasā prajvalann iva ||
Parvata dit : «Puis, ô sage de lignée royale, à un certain tournant du temps, un fils naquit à Sṛñjaya—d’une vaillance immense, flamboyant comme s’il brûlait de son propre éclat. Il était pourvu d’une force hors du commun.»
