Since all beings remain bound by worldly dualities (pleasure and pain) and are inevitably subject to death, grief cannot change the truth of impermanence; one should cultivate composure and discernment instead of lamentation.
Vāyudeva delivers a concise philosophical admonition that confronts the inevitability of death and questions the usefulness of mourning, functioning as counsel meant to steady the listener’s mind and reduce sorrow.
