Adhyāya 284: Tapas as a Corrective to Household Attachment
Parāśara’s Instruction
पवित्र च पवित्राणां मड़लानां च मड्जलम् | गिरिको हिंडुको वृक्षो जीव: पुद्गल एव च
pavitraṁ ca pavitrāṇāṁ maṅgalānāṁ ca maṅgalam | giriko hiṇḍuko vṛkṣo jīvaḥ pudgala eva ca ||
Bhīṣma dit : Tu es le plus pur parmi tout ce qui est pur, et l’auspiciosité suprême parmi tout ce qui est de bon augure. Tu es aussi « Girika », la puissance qui éveille même ce qui est inerte ; « Hiṇḍuka », le mobile qui va et revient ; l’arbre du monde lui-même ; le principe de vie individuel ; et l’être incarné.
