Adhyāya 272: Vṛtrasya Dharmiṣṭhatā, Indrasya Mohaḥ, Vasiṣṭha-upadeśaḥ

एकशीलाश्ष मित्रत्वं भजन्ते पापकर्मिण: । स नेह सुखमाप्रोति कुत एव परत्र वै
ekaśīlāś ca mitratvaṁ bhajante pāpakarmiṇaḥ | sa neha sukham āpnoti kuta eva paratra vai ||
Bhishma dit : Ceux qui ont la même disposition—surtout les pécheurs—se lient aisément d’amitié entre eux. Mais l’homme qui se tourne vers une conduite injuste n’obtient le bonheur même pas en ce monde ; comment pourrait-il donc l’obtenir dans l’autre ?
