परिव्राजक-आचारः (Conduct of the Wandering Renunciant) — Mahābhārata, Śānti-parva 269
यद्यागच्छन्ति संसारं पु$नर्योनिषु तादृशा: । न लिप्यन्ते पापकृत्यै:ः कदाचित् कर्मयोनित:
yady āgacchanti saṃsāraṃ punar yoniṣu tādṛśāḥ | na lipyante pāpakṛtyaiḥ kadācit karmayonitaḥ ||
Même si de telles âmes pures reviennent à l’existence mondaine et prennent naissance dans des matrices où l’action et l’obligation ont cours, elles ne sont jamais souillées par des actes fautifs du seul fait de cette condition incarnée. Leur pureté intérieure et leur connaissance les gardent sans attache, et les défauts du champ de l’action ne s’agrippent pas à elles.
