ममेदमिति नास्यैतत्‌ प्रवर्तेत कलौ युगे । लोकयात्रा न चैव स्यादथ चेद्‌ वेत्थ शंस नः,कलियुग आनेपर तो लोग “यह वस्तु मेरी है, इसकी नहीं है” ऐसा कहकर सीधे ही दूसरोंका धन हड़प लेंगे। इस तरह लोकयात्राका निर्वाह असम्भव हो जायगा। यदि तुम इसका कोई समाधान जानते हो, तो मुझसे बताओ

Transliteration

mamedam iti nāsyaitat pravarteta kalau yuge | lokayātrā na caiva syād atha ced vettha śaṃsa naḥ ||

Translation

«Dans l’âge de Kali, l’idée “ceci est à moi, non à lui” ne jouera plus le rôle d’un frein sûr. Les hommes s’empareront avec effronterie des biens d’autrui, et la marche ordinaire de la société — subsistance commune et échanges réciproques — ne pourra se maintenir. Si tu connais un remède à cela, dis-le-nous.»
