तस्मात्‌ पितुर्वच: कार्य न विचार्य कदाचन । पातकान्यपि पूयन्ते पितु: शासनकारिण:

Transliteration

tasmāt pitur vacaḥ kāryaṃ na vicārya kadācana | pātakāny api pūyante pituḥ śāsanakāriṇaḥ ||

Translation

Bhīṣma dit : « C’est pourquoi l’ordre du père doit être exécuté, sans jamais être livré à l’hésitation ni aux doutes. Même les fautes de celui qui agit selon l’injonction paternelle sont purifiées : telle est la puissance de l’obéissance à l’autorité du père dans le dharma. »
