यज्ञेऽहिंसा-प्राधान्यम्

Primacy of Non-Harm in Sacrificial Ethics

भीष्म उवाच यथा शरीर न ग्लायेन्नेयान्मृत्युवशं यथा । तथा कर्मसु वर्तेत समर्थों धर्ममाचरेत्‌

bhīṣma uvāca | yathā śarīraṃ na glāyet neyān mṛtyuvaśaṃ yathā | tathā karmasu varteta samartho dharmam ācaret ||

Bhīṣma dit : « Yudhiṣṭhira, il faut s’acquitter de ses devoirs de telle sorte que le corps ne dépérisse pas et ne tombe pas sous l’emprise de la mort. Car ce n’est que lorsque le corps demeure apte et vigoureux qu’un homme peut véritablement pratiquer et maintenir le dharma. »
