Adhyāya 249 — Mṛtyu-prādurbhāvaḥ (The Manifestation of Death) / Restraint of Tejas and Ordered Saṃhāra
विमुक्तः सर्वपापेभ्यो मुक्तत्वच इवोरग: । परां बुद्धिमवाप्येह विपाप्मा विगतज्वर:,केंचुल छोड़कर निकले हुए सर्पके समान सम्पूर्ण पापोंसे मुक्त हो उत्तम बुद्धि पाकर तुम यहाँ पाप और चिन्तासे रहित हो जाओ
vimuktaḥ sarvapāpebhyo muktatvac iva uragaḥ | parāṃ buddhim avāpyeha vipāpmā vigatajvaraḥ ||
Délivré de tout péché—tel un serpent qui s’est glissé hors de sa vieille peau—ayant atteint ici la plus haute intelligence, tu deviendras sans tache et affranchi de la fièvre de la détresse et de l’inquiétude.

True purification is an inner transformation: by attaining higher discernment (parā buddhi), one becomes free from moral stain (vipāpmā) and from the ‘fever’ of mental agitation (vigatajvaraḥ), as naturally as a serpent leaves behind its old skin.
