सम्पीडयति य: कालो वृद्धि वार्धुषिको यथा । जैसे ऋण देनेवाला पुरुष व्याजका हिसाब जोड़कर ऋण लेनेवालोंको तंग करता है
sampīḍayati yaḥ kālo vṛddhi-vārdhuṣiko yathā |
Bhīṣma dit : Le Temps accable les êtres vivants, tel un prêteur qui calcule l’intérêt et l’intérêt composé pour harceler le débiteur. De même, le Temps tient un compte implacable — des jours et des nuits, des mois, des instants et de mesures plus infimes encore — et, sans relâche, fait peser sur les créatures fardeau et souffrance.
