सर्वे समरमासाद्य न श्रूयन्ते पराजिता: । सर्वे सत्यव्रतपरा: सर्वे कामविहारिण:
sarve samaram āsādya na śrūyante parājitāḥ | sarve satyavrataparāḥ sarve kāmavihāriṇaḥ ||
Bhishma dit : «Tous, une fois entrés sur le champ de bataille, ne furent jamais réputés vaincus. Tous étaient voués au vœu de vérité, et tous se mouvaient et vivaient selon leurs désirs légitimes — libres, sans entraves, maîtres d’eux-mêmes.»
