अध्याय २२० — बलिवासवसंवादः
Bali–Vāsava Dialogue on Kāla and Steadfastness
प्राप्प लोके च सत्कारं स्वर्ग वै प्रेत्य गच्छति । जितेन्द्रिय पुरुष किसीके साथ वैर नहीं करता। उसका सबके साथ अच्छा बर्ताव होता है। वह निन्दा और स्तुतिमें समान भाव रखनेवाला
prāpya loke ca satkāraṃ svargaṃ vai pretya gacchati |
Bhīṣma dit : L’homme maître de lui-même, qui ne nourrit d’inimitié envers personne et se conduit bien avec tous, demeure égal d’âme dans le blâme comme dans l’éloge ; il vit selon la juste conduite, est courtois et discipliné, joyeux, constant, et capable de réprimer ses défauts. Un tel homme obtient l’honneur en ce monde et, après la mort, atteint le ciel.
