Manu on the hierarchy of senses, mind, and knowledge

Educational Q&A

To live without ego-driven mental fixation, without grasping for personal gain, without insulting others, and without falling into lazy inaction—maintaining disciplined, non-possessive, respectful, and responsible conduct.

In the Shanti Parva’s instruction on dharma and liberation, Bhishma continues advising Yudhishthira on the marks of a disciplined seeker: freedom from ego, restraint from acquisitiveness, avoidance of contempt, and commitment to appropriate action.
