Jñāna-yoga and Karma-phala: Manu–Bṛhaspati on Akṣara and the Limits of Mantra
स्वदेशे परदेशे वा अतिथिं नोपवासयेत् । काम्यकर्मफलं लब्ध्वा गुरूणामुपपादयेत्
Bhīṣma uvāca: svadeśe paradeśe vā atithiṃ nopavāsayet | kāmyakarmaphalaṃ labdhvā gurūṇām upapādayet ||
Bhīṣma dit : Que l’on soit dans son propre pays ou en terre étrangère, il ne faut pas laisser un hôte venu à la maison demeurer sans nourriture. Et tout gain obtenu comme fruit d’actions accomplies par désir mais dans le cadre du devoir, qu’on l’offre avec respect aux aînés et aux maîtres.
