इमे मां कृमयो5दन्ति येषामुद्धरणाय वै । नास्ति शक्तिरपाणित्वात् पश्यावस्थामिमां मम
ime māṁ kṛmayo ’danti yeṣām uddharaṇāya vai | nāsti śaktir apāṇitvāt paśyāvasthām imāṁ mama ||
Bhīṣma dit : «Ces vers me rongent. Et pourtant je n’ai pas la force de les ôter et de les rejeter au loin, car je n’ai pas de mains. Vois de tes propres yeux l’état misérable dans lequel je gis à présent.»
