अमोघा रात्रयक्षापि नित्यमायान्ति यान्ति च । यदाहमेतज्जानामि न मृत्युस्तिष्ठतीति ह । सो<हं कथं प्रतीक्षिष्ये जालेनापिहितश्चरन्
amoghā rātrayaḥ kṣapāpi nityam āyānti yānti ca | yad aham etaj jānāmi na mṛtyus tiṣṭhatīti ha | so 'haṃ kathaṃ pratīkṣiṣye jālenāpihitaś caran |
Bhishma dit : «Les nuits infaillibles — l’obscur intervalle de chaque jour — viennent et s’en vont sans cesse. Puisque je sais cette vérité : que la Mort ne s’arrête pas même un instant, et que je chemine déjà comme recouvert de son filet, comment pourrais-je attendre ne serait-ce qu’un peu ?»
