Adhyāya 174: Karma as an inescapable companion (कर्मानुगमन-उपदेश)
The chapter’s framing (as a colophon) highlights the ethical lesson of the Kṛtaghna-upākhyāna: ingratitude is a serious moral failing, and dharma requires remembering and honoring benefits received—especially when judging conduct in difficult circumstances (āpaddharma).
This line is a concluding colophon stating that the chapter has ended. It identifies the textual location (Śānti Parva → Āpaddharma section) and the subject matter (the illustrative tale about an ungrateful person), marking the completion of that episode.
