ततो महारहैस्ते सर्वे रत्नैरभ्यर्चिता: शुभै: । ब्राह्मणा मृष्टवसना: सुप्रीता: सम ततो5भवन्
tato mahārahais te sarve ratnair abhyarcitāḥ śubhaiḥ | brāhmaṇā mṛṣṭa-vasanāḥ suprītāḥ saṃ tataḥ abhavan |
Bhishma dit : «Alors tous ces brahmanes furent honorés par des joyaux de bon augure, d’un prix incomparable. Revêtus de vêtements propres et raffinés, ils furent pleinement satisfaits et demeurèrent ensuite dans le contentement.»
भीष्म उवाच
The verse highlights dharmic dāna: honoring worthy recipients (here, Brāhmaṇas) with valuable and auspicious gifts, along with respectful treatment, results in genuine satisfaction and social harmony.
Bhīṣma describes a scene where Brāhmaṇas are ceremonially honored with precious jewels and fine clothing; as a result, they become fully pleased and content.
