Ajagara-vrata (The ‘Python’ Discipline): Prahrāda Questions a Wandering Sage
तासु ते पूजिता राज्ञा निषण्णा द्विजसत्तमा: । तिलदर्भोदकेनाथ अर्चिता विधिवद् द्विजा:
tāsu te pūjitā rājñā niṣaṇṇā dvijasattamāḥ | tiladarbhodakenātha arcitā vidhivad dvijāḥ ||
Bhishma dit : Lorsque ces brahmanes éminents, honorés par le roi, eurent pris place sur ces sièges, alors Virūpākṣa, prenant du sésame, de l’herbe kuśa et de l’eau, leur rendit un culte selon le rite prescrit.
भीष्म उवाच
That upholding dharma includes honoring learned Brahmins and performing prescribed rites correctly; respectful hospitality and ritual propriety are presented as supports of righteous kingship and social-spiritual order.
After the king honors the Brahmins and they sit on the prepared seats, Virūpākṣa performs their formal worship using ritual items—sesame, kuśa-grass, and water—following proper procedure.
