Ajagara-vrata (The ‘Python’ Discipline): Prahrāda Questions a Wandering Sage
तानागतान् द्विजश्रेष्ठान् विरूपाक्षो विशाम्पते । यथा प्रतिजग्राह विधिदृष्टेन कर्मणा,प्रजानाथ! विरूपाक्षने वहाँ पधारे हुए जन श्रेष्ठ ब्राह्मणोंका शास्त्रीय विधिके अनुसार यथायोग्य स्वागत-सत्कार किया
tān āgatān dvijaśreṣṭhān virūpākṣo viśāmpate | yathā pratijagrāha vidhidṛṣṭena karmaṇā prajānātha |
Bhishma dit : Ô seigneur des peuples, Virūpākṣa reçut ces brahmanes éminents qui étaient arrivés, les accueillant et les honorant comme il se doit, accomplissant les rites exactement selon la règle sacrée.
भीष्म उवाच
A ruler upholds dharma not only through power but through disciplined conduct—especially honoring worthy guests and learned Brahmins with hospitality performed according to scriptural injunction (vidhi).
Bhishma recounts how Virupaksha received the arriving eminent Brahmins and offered them a proper welcome and ritual honor, following the prescribed procedures.
