निर्वेदोपदेशः (Nirveda-Upadeśa) — Maṅki’s Dispassion and the Limits of Wealth-Seeking
भीष्म उवाच तस्मै दत्त्वा स सत्कारं विधिदृष्टेन कर्मणा । शालपुष्पमयीं दिव्यां बूसीं वै समकल्पयत्
bhīṣma uvāca: tasmai dattvā sa satkāraṃ vidhidṛṣṭena karmaṇā | śālapuṣpamayīṃ divyāṃ āsīṃ vai samakalpayat ||
Bhīṣma dit : Après lui avoir rendu les honneurs qui lui étaient dus selon les rites prescrits par les Écritures, il lui fit préparer un siège splendide, fait de fleurs de śāla.
भीष्म उवाच
Honor should be expressed through dharma-aligned action: receiving a worthy guest with prescribed, respectful hospitality (satkāra) rather than mere words.
A revered guest (Gautama, as indicated by the surrounding context) is formally welcomed: he is honored according to scriptural procedure, and a fine seat made of śāla-flowers is prepared for him.
