Ākiṃcanya–Tyāga Upadeśa
The Instruction on Non-ownership and Renunciation
This line is a colophon marking the close of a chapter within the Āpaddharma discussions, highlighting that the surrounding material is framed as an instructive tale about kṛtaghnatā (ingratitude) and the ethical duties relevant in times of crisis.
Bhīṣma’s discourse reaches a formal chapter-end marker: it identifies the text (Mahābhārata), the larger book (Śānti Parva), the subsection (Āpaddharma), and the embedded episode (Kṛtaghna-upākhyāna), and states that the 169th chapter has concluded.
