On Gratitude and Friendship Ethics
तदेतदार्ष माद्रेय प्रमाणं कर्तुमरहसि । असेश्व पूजा कर्तव्या सदा युद्धविशारदै:
tad etad ārṣaṃ mādreya pramāṇaṃ kartum arhasi | aśeṣvā pūjā kartavyā sadā yuddhaviśāradaiḥ ||
Bhīṣma dit : «Ô fils de Mādrī, tiens ceci pour faisant autorité, car telle est la doctrine enseignée par les voyants. Aussi, ceux qui excellent dans l’art de la guerre doivent-ils toujours rendre un culte à l’épée, la traitant avec révérence comme un instrument lié au devoir et à la discipline.»
