ब्रह्मा ददावसिं तीक्षणमधर्मप्रतिवारणम् । इसके बाद ब्रह्माजीने अधर्मका निवारण करनेमें समर्थ वह तीखी तलवार वृषभचिह्नित ध्वजावाले नीलकण्ठ भगवान् रुद्रको दे दी
brahmā dadāv asiṁ tīkṣṇam adharmaprativāraṇam |
Bhīṣma dit : Brahmā accorda une épée au tranchant aigu, capable de contenir et de repousser l’adharma. Puis Brahmā remit cette arme acérée—puissante pour réprimer l’injustice—au Seigneur Rudra, le Nīlakaṇṭha à la gorge bleue, dont l’étendard porte l’emblème du taureau, afin que le désordre et l’iniquité soient contenus et que le dharma soit préservé.
