Adhyāya 159 — Dāna–Dakṣiṇā, Āpaddharma Measures, and Prāyaścitta Classifications
द्वेषक्रोधप्रसक्ताश्व॒ शिष्टाचारबहिष्कृता:
dveṣa-krodha-prasaktāś ca śiṣṭācāra-bahiṣkṛtāḥ | madhura-vādināṃ cāpi hṛdaye kaṭhinā bhavanti | teṣāṃ sthitir ghāsa-tṛṇa-channa-kūpa-samā | dharma-nāmnā jagad vañcayantaḥ kṣudrā dharma-dhvajinaḥ jagal lūṇṭhayanti ||
Bhīṣma dit : Ceux qui s’attachent à la haine et à la colère abandonnent la conduite des gens civilisés. Même s’ils parlent avec douceur, ils sont intérieurement d’une dureté extrême. Leur état est comme un puits recouvert d’herbe et de paille : le danger caché sous une surface agréable. Au nom du dharma, ils trompent le monde ; de petits hommes, brandissant l’étendard de la justice comme un masque, pillent la société.
