Apaddharma Determination: Dialogue of Viśvāmitra and the Śvapaca
नच वक्चित् कृते कार्य कर्तारें समवेक्षते
na ca vakcit kṛte kārya kartāraṃ samavekṣate
Bhishma dit : «Et l’on ne doit pas, une fois l’acte accompli, regarder autour de soi pour chercher quelqu’un à traiter comme l’auteur (à qui attribuer louange ou blâme).» Dans le cadre éthique du Śānti Parva, il s’agit de contenir l’esprit afin qu’il ne se fixe pas, après coup, sur la question de l’agent—surtout l’élan à distribuer mérite ou faute—pour que le jugement demeure accordé au dharma plutôt qu’à l’émotion réactive.
