Gautama–Yama Saṃvāda: Mātṛ-Pitṛ-Ṛṇa (Debt to Parents) and Śubha-Loka Attainment
भवन्त: सुमहाभागास्तस्मात् पृच्छामि संशयम् । आशावान् पुरुषो यः स्यादन्तरिक्षमथापि वा
bhavantaḥ sumahābhāgās tasmāt pṛcchāmi saṁśayam | āśāvān puruṣo yaḥ syād antarīkṣam athāpi vā |
Bhīṣma dit : «Vous êtes des êtres hautement fortunés et accomplis ; c’est pourquoi je vous interroge afin de dissiper mon doute. Si, d’un côté, se tient un homme soutenu par l’espérance, et de l’autre, le ciel sans bornes, lequel des deux vous paraît le plus grand selon l’estime du monde ? Je veux en entendre la vérité. En vérité, étant venu jusqu’ici, qu’y aurait-il encore de difficile à obtenir ?»
