Gratitude, Discernment, and the Escalation of Power (Śvā–Dvipī–Vyāghra–Nāga–Siṃha–Śarabha Itihāsa)
तथा कुरु महाबाहो सर्वज्ञस्त्वं न संशय: । 'भगवन्! यह चीता कुत्तोंका शत्रु है और मुझे मार डालना चाहता है। महामुने! महाबाहो! आप ऐसा करें
tathā kuru mahābāho sarvajñas tvaṃ na saṃśayaḥ |
Bhishma dit : « Agis donc ainsi, ô toi aux bras puissants. Tu es omniscient : il n’en est point de doute. » Dans son contexte, c’est une supplication pour une protection empreinte de compassion : le suppliant s’en remet au discernement d’un sage qui sait tout et demande un moyen d’ôter la peur inspirée par un prédateur menaçant, faisant de cette requête une épreuve de bienveillance et d’action juste envers le faible.
