Vighasāśin and the Difficulty of Gārhasthya
Beneficial counsel aligned with dharma and artha can correct a misguided, dismissive attitude (“nāsti iti”) and redirect one toward a constructive, socially responsible path—here, the disciplined practice of gārhasthya (householder duty).
After hearing wholesome instruction that integrates righteousness (dharma) with practical well-being (artha), the persons described give up their earlier negative conclusion and return to adopt the householder mode of life.
