शृणु राजन् स्थिरो भूत्वा संग्रामं शंसतो मम । संजयने कहा--राजन्! जहाँ हाथी, घोड़े और मनुष्योंके शरीरोंका महान् संहार हुआ था, उस संग्रामका मैं वर्णन करता हूँ; आप सुस्थिर होकर सुनिये
śṛṇu rājan sthiro bhūtvā saṅgrāmaṃ śaṃsato mama |
Sañjaya dit : « Ô roi, demeure ferme et écoute. Je te raconterai cette bataille où il y eut un vaste carnage d’éléphants, de chevaux et d’hommes ; écoute donc mon récit avec calme. »
