मोघं दुर्योधनश्षक्रे तत्रा भूद् विस््मयो महान् । परंतु महाबली दुर्योधनको इससे तनिक भी घबराहट नहीं हुई। उसने फुर्तीसे इधर-उधर होकर उस प्रहारको व्यर्थ कर दिया। यह देख वहाँ सब लोगोंको महान् आश्चर्य हुआ ।। ४७ न् |! सा तु मोघा गदा राजन् पतन्ती भीमचोदिता,चालयामास पृथिवीं महानिर्घातनि:स्वना । राजन! भीमसेनकी चलायी हुई वह गदा जब व्यर्थ होकर गिरने लगी, उस समय उसने वज्रपातके समान महान् शब्द प्रकट करके पृथ्वीको हिला दिया
sa tu moghā gadā rājan patantī bhīmacoditā | cālayāmāsa pṛthivīṃ mahānirghātaniḥsvanā ||
Sañjaya dit : Ô roi, cette massue, lancée par Bhîmasena, tomba sans effet. En s’abattant en vain, elle retentit comme le fracas de la foudre et fit trembler la terre d’un rugissement immense né du choc. À cette vue, tous ceux qui étaient là furent saisis d’un grand étonnement.
