गदायुद्ध-समारम्भः
Commencement of the Mace-Duel Proceedings
त॑ देशमगमद् यत्र श्रीमान् रामो व्यवस्थित: । प्रत्युत्थाय च त॑ सम्पक् पूजयित्वा यतव्रतम्
taṁ deśam agamad yatra śrīmān rāmo vyavasthitaḥ | pratyutthāya ca taṁ samyak pūjayitvā yatavrataṁ ||
Vaiśampāyana dit : Il se rendit à l’endroit où se tenait l’illustre Rāma. Rāma se leva pour l’accueillir et honora comme il se doit cet homme de maîtrise et de discipline — manifestant le respect dû à la vertu et à la retenue, même sous la pression de la guerre.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Proper conduct (dharma) is shown through respectful greeting and honoring the virtuous—especially those marked by self-restraint (yatavrata). Social and ethical order is maintained by recognizing merit and discipline.
A person goes to the location where Rāma is positioned, rises to greet him, and offers due honor, indicating formal reception and reverence toward a disciplined figure.
