शल्यस्य सेनापत्याभ्युपगमः | Śalya’s Acceptance of Command
न तु सन्धिमहं मन्ये प्राप्तकालं कथडठ्चन । “आपने स्नेहवश हितकी ही बात कही है। आपकी इस बातमें मैं दोष नहीं निकालता और न इसकी निन्दा ही करता हूँ। मेरा कथन तो इतना ही है कि अब किसी प्रकार सन्धिका अवसर नहीं रह गया है। मेरी ऐसी ही मान्यता है
na tu sandhim ahaṃ manye prāptakālaṃ kathaṃcana |
Sañjaya dit : «Pourtant, je ne crois pas qu’un traité soit encore possible—d’aucune manière—car l’heure décisive est déjà venue. Par affection, tu as dit ce qui est salutaire ; je ne trouve aucun défaut à tes paroles et je ne les blâme pas. Je dis seulement ceci : l’occasion de la réconciliation est passée.»
