इत्युक्ता सापचत् तानि ब्राह्मणप्रियकाम्यया । अधिभश्रित्य समिद्धे5ग्नौी बदराणि यशस्विनी,“तब महादेवजीने कहा--'सुव्रते! इन बेरोंको पका दो।” उनके इस प्रकार आदेश देनेपर यशस्विनी अरुन्धतीने ब्राह्मणका प्रिय करनेकी इच्छासे उन बेरोंको प्रज्वलित अग्निपर रखकर पकाना आरम्भ किया
ity uktā sā apacat tāni brāhmaṇa-priya-kāmyayā | adhibhṛśritya samiddhe 'gnau badarāṇi yaśasvinī ||
Vaiśampāyana dit : Ainsi instruite, l’illustre dame, désireuse de plaire au brāhmane, posa ces jujubes sur un feu bien attisé et se mit à les cuire.
