पिड़ाक्षा नीलकण्ठाश्न लम्बकर्णाक्ष भारत । वृकोदरनिभाश्चैव केचिदज्जनसंनिभा:
piḍākṣā nīlakaṇṭhāś ca lambakarṇākṣa bhārata | vṛkodaranibhāś caiva kecid añjanasannibhāḥ ||
Vaiśampāyana dit : «Ô Bhārata, certains avaient les yeux fauves-bruns ; certains portaient sur la gorge une marque bleuâtre ; certains avaient de longues oreilles pendantes. Les uns étaient de la teinte du ventre du loup, tandis que d’autres étaient noirs comme le khôl.»
